David Arnold Hair Salon has joined the national effort to clean up the oil spill plaguing the Gulf by simply donating all its hair! Each day they will sweep up cut hair to send to Matter of Trust. Their hair, and other collected fibers are woven into hair mats that sop up the spreading oil.

Join Bob Hesse on Wednesday evenings on June 2, 9, 16, and 23rd from 7 to 8:30PM for this basic fly tying course. People tie flies for many reasons. Some wish to save a little money and fill their fly boxes with their favorite flies. Some enjoy inventing their own patterns. Others find that tying their own flies greatly enhances the pleasure of fly-fishing, and extends it into non fishing periods. Some people turn the flies into amazing jewelry. It’s a relaxing hobby and an opportunity for life long learning.

You will learn some basic techniques that are used in all tying. We will tie dry flies, nymphs and streamers, all effective patterns to catch fish in Pennsylvania.

You can either provide your own tools or purchase them when you register for the course.
