Models will sashay across the stage of the renovated Hiway Theatre in Jenkintown Sunday, February 10 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. in the region’s first ever, community bridal show. Sponsored by the Jenkintown Community Alliance and Hennessey May’d Bridal, the event will showcase custom made wedding gowns as well as products and services from 20 local merchants spanning photographers, caterers, salons, florists and jewelers. The event is the first of its kind to provide the public access to the full range of bridal service in one place at one time. Registration includes food tastings from caterers as well as chair massages and hair treatments from local salons. One lucky bride will walk home with one of the gowns worn by the models valued at $7,000. Tickets start at $6.00 in advance or $10.00 at the door. Help dress up the square in Halloween style as the Jenkintown Recreation Board holds its annual build-a-scarecrow event on Saturday, October 13 at 2:00 PM. The Rec Board provides the hay, frame and string. Friends and families provided the clothes and inspiration. These creations will be proudly displayed in Jenkintown’s Town Square until after Halloween. There will be seasonal snacks and drinks, concluding with roasting marshmallows over a fire. If you come out you will have fun, the town will be festive and kids will enjoy free refreshments!

Put on your dancing shoes and head on over to the Jenkintown Town Square to help the Rec Board along with local favorites Zydeco-a-Go-Go celebrate the arrival of summer in their annual Summer Solstice concert. This family fun event takes place on Friday June 22, 7:00 pm at the Jenkintown Town Square on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue. Come out and get a taste of New Orleans with free water ice and soft pretzels.

The Hiway Theatre is featuring a special Hitchcock Film Series starting June 21, 7PM. Come see the master of suspense as they host this special film series featuring four of Alfred Hitchcock’s finest works.

The Jenkintown Rec. Board presents a celebration of the spoken word - Poetry on the Square. Come out for an evening of Poetry and refreshments on Wednesday, June 13, 7:00 p.m. at the Town Square on Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue. Children and adults are invited to read their poetry to the audience. A distinguished panel of judges will award prizes to different age groups.
