Symphony welcomes pianist Hugh Sung on January 24th

On Saturday evening January 24 at 8:00, at the Abington Junior High School, the Old York Road Symphony will feature pianist Hugh Sung, performing the Grieg Piano Concerto. Mr. Sung has been an active soloist and chamber musician since his debut with The Philadelphia Orchestra at the age of 11. Two years later, he was accepted for studies at the Curtis Institute of Music, where his principal teachers included Eleanor Sokoloff, Jorge Bolet, and Seymour Lipkin, along with Karen Tuttle and Felix Galimir for chamber music.

Also on the program will be Borodin’s Overture to Prince Igor and the Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 4, under the direction of its esteemed conductor, Yoon Jae Lee. More information regarding this concert can be found at oldyorkroadsymphony.org or by calling 215-782-1718.

Howl’oween for the Dogs

Come join the Halloween fun presented by The Wild Dog House at the parking lot on Cottman and West, on Sunday from 12 – 4. Come in costume with you dog and win a prize. There will be food and novelty items for dog lovers. Hot dogs proceeds will benefit Breathing Room for breast cancer awareness month. Dog rescue organizations will be represented as well as part of the proceeds. Paul Big Bear will stir up the party.

JCA Community Meeting

Please join the JCA on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 pm at Grace Presbyterian Church to learn more about the Jenkintown Community Alliance’s initiatives and be a part of planning our future. The JCA administers the town’s business improvement district and invites you to join us for an evening’s presentation and discussion so we can harness our energies to enhance our town. Grace Presbyterian is located at 444 Old York Road and the meeting is downstairs in Muyskens Hall.
