Loans and Grant Programs
100-Percent Guarantee America’s Recovery Capital (ARC) Loan Program
Small businesses suffering financial hardship as a result of the slow economy may be eligible to receive temporary relief to keep their doors open and get their cash flow back on track. ARC loans are deferred-payment loans of up to $35,000 available to established, viable, for-profit small businesses that need short-term help to make their principal and interest payments on existing qualifying debt. ARC loans are interest-free to the borrower, 100 percent guaranteed by the SBA, and have no SBA fees associated with them. ARC loans will be made by commercial lenders, not SBA directly. Montgomery County Development Corporation administers the Pennsylvania Small Business First Fund (SBFF) in Montgomery County. This fund provides qualified businesses with up to $200,000 or half of a total project cost, whichever is less. The current interest rate is fixed at 4% for the term of the loan.

The Small Business Energy Efficiency Grant Program will accept applications through May 1, 2009 ot provides a 25 percent reimbursement grant, up to a maximum of $25,000, to enable Pennsylvania small businesses to acquire certain pieces of equipment or adopt certain processes that promote energy efficiency.
Community First Fund offers business counseling and training as well as grants and micro-loans.
