Jenkintown invites you to a “BEEF & BEER FOR MOIRA” at the West Avenue Grille, 718 West Ave off of Old York Road in Jenkintown, PA on Sunday, April 22, from 5 to 8 PM. Please buy tickets and pass the word. We want this to be a great success for Moira and her family. Tickets are $25 and checks can be made out to “Moira Shaughnessy Benevolent Fund”. In January, Moira Shaughnessy, the Executive Director of The Ardmore Initiative, and former executive Director of the Jenkintown Community Alliance was stricken with Viral Encephalitis – a rare disease which causes acute inflammation of the brain and an extremely debilitating condition. Moira now requires long term cognitive and rehabilitative care. These costs are extraordinarily prohibitive so we have joined forces with many community organizations to help Moira’s family offset the ever increasing medical costs.
