To encourage shoppers and diners the Jenkintown Council unanimously voted to offer FREE parking at the borough meters on Wednesday nights beginning at 5:00 pm. Many Jenkintown stores already have extended evening hours on Wednesdays and free parking will make it even more convenient to come into town and extend one’s visit to not just visit a salon or office, but to have dinner, shop and catch a movie. The Jenkintown Community Alliance had first requested free Wednesday parking as part of its holiday shopping promotion and now is pleased to have free Wednesday evening parking to help promote First Wednesdays and to make it more convenient for families who often do their shopping after work.
