West Ave Grille supports Free the Hikers

West Avenue Grille is assisting the family of Josh Fattal, a local resident who is currently being held in Iran. Now through December 12th, West Avenue Grille is donating $5 from every meal over $25 toward the Free the Hikers campaign established to get public support to convince Iran to release the three American hikers, who have been held captive since July. The money will go toward the expenses incurred by the hikers’ families’ efforts to bring their loved ones home. Read more in this Montgomery Newspaper article.

Holiday Luminaries to light up your home

Jenkintown Library invites you to join the Jenkintown Community in celebrating the Holiday Season by lining your property
at dusk on December 24th with candle luminaries.

The Library is offering Luminary Kits for $15.
Each kit contains 12 white bags, 12 ten-hour candles and sand.

Kits will be available at the Library beginning
Sunday, December 6 during Library hours.

Food Drive to help our neighbors

Jenkintown Library is collecting canned goods and cereal for JENKINTOWN UNITED METHODIST
CHURCH FOOD CUPBOARD to donate to local needy families this holiday season.
PLEASE HELP by placing your non-perishable
food donation in the boxes located inside the front and back doors of the Jenkintown Library.

All food goes to families who use the Jenkintown United Methodist Church Food Cupboard, which feeds between 60-80 families per week.

Items need most:
CEREAL
CANNED MEALS (BEEF STEW, CHILI, ETC…)
JUICES
SPAGHETTI SAUCE

1. On Black Friday, Nov. 27th Jenkintown’s new parking lot opens with 66 new three-hour parking spaces. On Black Friday, parking is free all day in our newest lot.
2. There is FREE meter every Wednesday & Friday night starting at 5 pm and FREE ALL DAY parking on Weekends from now until New Year’s Day.
3. Not sure what toys to buy this year? Enjoy an adult-only shopping night at Rhinoceros Toy Store on Dec. 10th and on Dec. 17th with
wine, cheese, and friendly browsing from 7:30- 10:00 pm.
4. Children are welcomed to come to Peekaboo Alley’s Holiday Drop and Shop to play games, do crafts and make music from now until the end of the year. There is a nominal fee and reservations are required.
5. Still don’t know what to get or have time to browse? Jenkintown Gift Certificates make great gifts and are honored at 39 different local businesses.

No Impact Man- Dec. 7th at the Hiway Theatre

On Monday, Dec. 7, at 7:00 pm, this is ONE NIGHT ONLY where you screen No Imapct Man, an acclaimed documentary and Sundance Festival favorite. This event is a fundraiser for bike racks in Jenkintown-a suggested min. donation will be specified at the door.
