“Hope-Full Hearts” Mosaic Fundraiser

Friday, October 19th, 2007
October 27, 2007
10:00 amto4:00 pm

This Little Gallery invites you to participate in their Hope-Full Hearts mosaic program benefiting The Breathing Room Foundation. Hope-Full Hearts will be a unique outside wall mural composed of individually handcrafted mosaic hearts serving as a daily tribute to those whose lives have been touched by cancer. The kickoff event at This Little Gallery, located at 617 West Avenue, on October 27th, from 10 – 4 p.m allows you to sign up to create a Hope-Full Heart and will feature samples of Hope-Full Hearts mosaics as well as an artist’s rendering of the completed mural. Trish Miller, owner of this Little Gallery has always dreamed of hosting an “interactive” art event. “Instead of just donating money, I thought it would be a wonderful experience to bring people together to create something beautiful. Art is so therapeutic…we will all benefit from something so positive and lasting.” Hope-Full Hearts are mosaic hearts you can create at special workshops. They in turn will be used to create a larger community built mosaic to be installed on the exterior wall of This Little Gallery. All proceeds to benefit The Breathing Room Foundation, with monies to be used specifically for the uninsured and the underinsured.

By making a $75.00 donation to the The Breathing Room Foundation, supporters will be able to sign up for a workshop. Workshops to be held at Derr Hall at Calgary Presbyterian Church on Bent Rd. in Wyncote. Choose from the following dates:

  • Tuesday, November 13, 2007, 9:30am-11:30am
  • Tuesday, November 27, 2007, 9:30am-11: 30am

Star Struck

Friday, October 12th, 2007

Yes, that really was Christopher Walken in Jenkintown! Crews were filming “Five Dollars A Day” yesterday and today in Jenkintown. Apparently our IHOP is one of the few left in a real town, not a strip mall, and to film the driving scene our library and church on York Road made for a great small town-feel. The crew couldn’t say enough great things about Jenkintown! To see the Fox News clip about it,
