Light Up The Square

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

On November 30, Jenkintown Square will be filled with lights and people as the tree on the square will be lit and a special quest from the North Pole will arrive to kick off the holiday season. The community is invited to Join in the Festivities sponsored by Sovereign Bank. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m.

The JCA invites the community to a Snowflake Hunt. Be on the lookout for hidden snowflake ornaments in participating Jenkintown shops and eateries. Once you or your Child finds the snowflake, your passport will be stamped. Collect three stamps and enter the passport at the JCA booth in Town Square during the tree lighting event. Later that night passports will be drawn for a gift basket and Jenkintown gift certificates. Passports are available at participating stores and at the JCA booth. Get into the holiday spirt while shopping, sampling goodies and socializing with others in the community… and remember, keep your eyes open for snowflakes!

Friday, November 2nd, 2007

Now residents can have Jenkintown shopping and dining information in one tidy map. In addition to well-traveled York Road, it includes the growing retail community around the Town Square and public parking. This pocket companion is a helpful complement to any shopping trip – for locals and visitors alike. The Jenkintown promotion map is an initiative of the Jenkintown Business Improvement District to showcase our local retail and restaurants. National polls show 72% of the public would prefer to shop in a town over a strip mall. JCA board member, and local map maker, Steve Spindler’s appealing map helps the public discover the local gems of Jenkintown. Shop Jenkintown maps are available at locations throughout the borough, or receive one by contacting the JCA.
