Dress up your Ghouls and Goblins and creep on over to the Jenkintown Playground on West Ave and Florence Ave as the Jenkintown Recreation Board presents the “Not So Haunted Playground” on Saturday, October 28, at 1:00 p.m. Put on your Halloween finest to complete for best-in-show costume prizes. There will be plenty of food, arts & crafts and halloween fun on hand at this spook-tacular event! The Not So Haunted Playground, it’s not so bad.

Jenkintown House Tour
The Friends of the Jenkintown Library will be hosting its 2006 House Tour on Saturday, November 4, 2006, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The House Tour will feature six beautiful Jenkintown homes and a “hard hat” tour of the renovations of the historical Hiway Theatre.

The Tour will also feature a dessert and coffee buffet following at the Jenkintown Library, as well as optional trolley service throughout the entire House Tour. The House Tour begins and ends at the Jenktintown Library.

The House Tour is hosted by the Friends of Jenkintown Library every two years, and is always a highlight of the Fall season in Jenkintown and surrounding communities. The funds raised by the House Tour will go toward activities and programs at the Jenktintown Library.

Tickets are $20.00, and can be purchased the night of the House Tour at the Jenkintown Library. Tickets can also be purchased in advance by sending $20.00 (check made payable to Friends of the Jenkintown Library) to Katie Cummings, 248 Wyncote Road, Jenkintown, PA 19046.

Help dress up the square in Halloween style as the Jenkintown Recreation Board holds its annual build-a-scarecrow event on Saturday, October 21st at 2:00 PM. The Rec Board provides the hay, frame and string. Friends and families provided the clothes and inspiration. These creations will be proudly displayed at the Jenkintown Town Square on Greenwood Ave & Leedom Street. until after Halloween. If you come out you will have fun, the town will be festive and kids will enjoy free refreshments!
