Art Reception at La Masion

City of Hope’s Hope Cuts

Don’t miss your chance to help cut out cancer and HIV/AIDS! This is your chance to join salons throughout the East Coast for the largest beauty industry fundraiser in the United States known as HopeCuts 2006. On November 5, 2006 from 12:00 - 4:00PM stylists at the David Arnold Salon will provide haircuts for $20.00, a fraction of the usual cost. Appointments are necessary so please call the salon at 215-886-2887 and arrange for a new you with a new doo today. David Arnold’s Hair Salon is located at 603 West Ave. All stylists donate their time and talent to help raise money to fight cancer and HIV/AIDS at City of Hope National Medical Center and Beckman Research Institute.

Not So Haunted Playground has been Postponed

Due to a very soggy playground, the “Not So Haunted Playground” has been postponed until Sunday, October 29, 2 p.m.

Dress up your Ghouls and Goblins as the Jenkintown Recreation Board presents the “Not So Haunted Playground” at the Jenkintown Playground on West Ave and Florence Ave. Put on your Halloween finest to complete for best-in-show costume prizes. There will be plenty of food, arts & crafts and halloween fun on hand at this spook-tacular event! The Not So Haunted Playground, it’s not so bad.

New Public Parking Opening up in Jenkintown

In it’s continual effort to increase parking in Jenkintown, the borough council has opened up more spaces. The 300 block of Cottman Ave. is now one way (on a 90- day trial basis). This allowed the borough to gain 7 additional parking spaces. There are 4 new spaces on the 600 of Greenwood , 3 new spaces on the 200 block of Leedom, 15 new spaces at the lot on Cedar and Greenwood, and 2 new spaces on the 700 block of Summit.

This totals 31 NEW parking spaces in Jenkintown - your Borough Council at work.
