Jenkintown’s Community Alliance Announces New Website

In Jenkintown, 2005 is proving to be the year of tangible growth and visible change thanks to corporate partners such as Verizon. The Jenkintown Community Alliance (JCA), Jenkintown’s state-funded Main Street organization, is pleased to announce it was awarded a $2,500 grant from the Verizon Foundation towards the purchase of new technology and website design services.
The JCA website, www.Jenkintown.net, was designed and launched by Kenric Ströhm of Rh3toric, Inc. The site serves as Jenkintown Community Alliance’s central information site, as well as an online community forum that offers information about Jenkintown’s various activities, events, organizations and developments. “The Verizon Foundation is committed to supporting programs and projects that create innovative e-solutions, help bridge the digital divide, foster basic and computer literacy and help enrich our communities, educate our citizens and create a skilled workforce,” states Daniel J. Reavy, Director, External Affairs, Verizon Pennsylvania. “We are happy to partner with the Jenkintown Main Street Program which addresses these goals so well.”

“Potential visitors to Jenkintown with just the” touch of a button” can browse our site for all news, programs, projects, and events happening in Jenkintown, “ says JCA executive director Moira Shaughnessy “In addition, our new technology will allow us to design marketing materials in-house, inevitably saving the JCA funds that can be delegated to other programs and projects,” she adds.

The Verizon Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Verizon Communications. The foundation uses its resources to develop partnerships in technology and connect them with organizations serving the needs of diverse communities, people
